Brü is all about local, organic, craft (food/beer/wine), and building community. The City ordinances in Lake Forest have been structured in a way that makes having live musicians or bands at the venue nearly impossible. The city's regulations require a significant number of uniformed security guards (3-4 for our size restaurant) during any live event. The city ordinances prohibit any more than 4 outdoor performances a year. The significant red tape makes bringing the arts and live performances to the community impossible. The regulations and ordinances are working against the City of Lake Forest having a growing cultural foundation. Other great locally owned restaurants in Lake Forest have fought the same battle and lost. Some other restaurants have chosen to do the live performances and have just ignored the city's red tape (putting themselves at risk). Our restaurant and other restaurants in question are not surrounded by any residential areas and these low key live performances will be a great asset to the city including: Giving residents a reason to stay in Lake Forest to enjoy an amazing evening while enjoying live local entertainment, more people means more tax revenues for the city (not lost to other surrounding City's that support the arts), more people means more employment for residents of the city, more people means more support for the arts (a critical component for any truly great city), more people enjoying Lake Forest... is good for Lake Forest.
