We want the pool at Brookfield Estates to be opened as soon as possible.

Governor McMaster allowed public swimming pools to reopen on May 18, 2020. Guidelines were posted on the "accelerateSC" website. These guidelines state that "While these guidelines are voluntary, it is in everyone's best interest to diligently follow those that apply to your location..."

The beaches have opened, the hotel pools have opened, the water parks have opened and many other HOA pools have opened. We want our pool to be opened as well!

We are willing to work with the HOA Board and the pool committee to make modifications with little or no cost to the community. Give us the chance to come together as a community and make this work.

Updates

June 8, 2020

I spent the morning staring at the empty pool gates again and it just feels completely absurd that every other place in town is open while ours stays locked up tight. I keep getting emails from neighbors who are just as confused as I am about why the board is being so stubborn about this when we have already offered to help with the safety modifications ourselves.

June 8, 2020

I honestly cannot believe how fast this is moving and seeing so many neighbors agree that we deserve to use our own pool is just wild. It feels like the tide is finally turning and maybe the board will actually listen to us now because this momentum is impossible to ignore.

I am in full support of reopening our pool and am in agreement with signing a waiver if needed. I will support any required restrictions such as a simple fixes like bringing our own chairs. I believe everyone in this community is responsible enough to make this work!

With the hot weather, it is like a tease looking at the water in the pool and knowing how refreshing it would be to be able to take a dip to cool down. As responsible adults, there must be a way to allow us in by possibly limiting numbers and times so everyone gets a chance

If you make people aware of the possible risks and use notices placed at the pool as well then the pool should be opened. The majority of the residents want it opened and are able to make their own decisions regarding any risk. Your beaches and water parks are open why keep the pool closed ?

We need the pool open, if a sign is posted on the gate stating the covid risk it absolves the community from liability. Numerous other pools are opening by the day, we all know some members of the pool community stated that if it was up to them the pool wouldn't be opened at all!! If you don't want to do what the homeowners want, then resign! Don't fight us, work with us!!

There is no reason why this pool should not open. Public pools are now opening in New Jersey who have had larger COVID numbers than in South Carolina.

THE POOL SHOULD BE OPEN FOR THE PEOPLE WHO WOULD LIKE TO ENJOY THEIR POOL. IF THE HOA NEEDS TO HAVE A WAIVER, SO BE IT. INFORM THE POOL VISITORS THAT THEY SHOULD BRING ANY DISINFECTANT WIPES IF THAT WOULD MAKE THEM MORE AT EASE. IF ALL OF THE ABOVE IS STILL NOT ENOUGH FOR THEM THEN YOU CAN CHOOSE TO STAY HOME.
