The commissioners officially voted to bring the Barter Theatre to our home and I am beyond thrilled. This dream for our town is finally becoming a reality because you refused to back down. We will keep a close eye on the construction phase to ensure everything proceeds exactly as promised.

We, the undersigned, do hereby support bringing the Barter Theatre to Mount Airy understanding that this project will result in an increase in city taxes. We feel that this a small price to pay for the biggest economic development opportunity to ever come to Surry County. We will not quietly let this once in a lifetime opportunity pass us by. We respectfully petition the City Commissioners to give this opportunity full and impartial consideration. Let’s vote “YES” and put Mount Airy center stage.

As a business owner in Mount Airy, I’d love to see this business venture come to fruition!
This is a wonderful opportunity to support local business, as that is the group who will reap most of the benefits of this new player. Restaurants, merchants, tourism people--most of whom are operators of small family businesses.
Excellent source of tourism dollars guaranteed for many years! Will eventually replace what we will lose as Mayberry fans age out and stop coming.
Please bring Barter Theater to Mount Airy. It will promote economic growth, especially jobs for our young people. A job gives them something positive to focus on and earn their money instead of falling into other activities that bring a burden to society.
We love Barter and attend four to six shows per year. Having Barter in Mt. Airy would be such an asset to our community!!
As a former resident of Mount Airy, NC, I can confidently say that The Barter Theater would bring countless opportunities for the community.
