I am honestly stunned to share that M&D's is officially coming back next year. This result belongs entirely to the people who spoke up because I never imagined we could actually turn this around. Let's keep a close eye on things to make sure the magic really returns.

Final supporters
Edinburgh City Council gave the event this year to Underbelly outing m&d's who have supplied a winter wonderland here for many years.
Expectations of underbelly were high and the only high thing that has been is the prices to get on the attractions all 4 of them.
The starflyer £7.50 a shot the giant wheel £8.00 the ice rink £10 the carousels £4.50 and not forgetting the food and drinks.
The prices this year are far to high for a family having day out and their is nothing for the kids apart from the carousel and santas train ride.
When m&d's ran the fair it really did have a winter wonderland feel about it, but underbelly chief charlie wood referred them to being to "tacky". Mr wood clearly doesnt know the meaning of christmas and that christmas is aimed at children yet fails to provide anything for them in Edinburgh.

I am honestly overwhelmed by how many people feel the same way about our city during the holidays. This momentum belongs entirely to you because I truly never expected this to grow beyond a few friends.

Totally agree...very angry at myself for paying £28 to take my children on the big wheel which lasted 4 minutes! The stalls in the German market were replicated every 3rd stall & all selling the same mass produced tat! Feel sorry for the tourists & disappointed families being ripped off. I certainly won't be back!
bring back m&Ds. my partner normally works with them by building the big wheel but lost out this year. it is far too expensive and it doesn't have the same Christmas feel as previous years x
Winter wonderland is meant to be for kids, barely a single thing aimed at kids this year and the star flyer is not an attraction you can take young kids on. The layout is terrible this year, too many outdoor pubs instead of christmas attractions for families and the prices are disgusting. The whole thing brings shame on our beautiful city.
I took my 2 year old son and he could only go on a train ride which was a rip off for £24 all he seen was two plastic deer and some trees
have gone to winter wonderland for the last 10 years or so, not this year, had to tell my daughter we can't go, simply cannot justify the prices, shocking!
Bring bk M&D'S cus this year was a Rip Off
3years we have spent Xmas eve in winterwonderland, this year Xmas eve was spoiled by lack of affordable activitys! Bring back m&ds!

The prices are discriminatory against low waged families. A city event should be for everyone not only the better off
