We, the undersigned residents of Edinburgh, demand that the City of Edinburgh Council reconsider its decision to terminate the city’s proposed tramline at Haymarket. While appreciating that they have opposed this project, we also call on the Scottish Government to join the council in bringing the trams to St Andrew Square. As The Scotsman rightly comments, failure to do this following the investment of £651m, with estimated annual losses of £4m in perpetuity, would be “the worst of all possible worlds”. Our city has been made a laughing stock. We call upon city councillors and MSPs to bring the line into the city centre at minimum cost, preventing further damage to our reputation and the commerce of both Edinburgh and Scotland.

What a total waste of money if they stop at haymarket. Finish the job and get the line into the actual city centre or what was the point of all the disruption to begin with.
