I have spent the morning reading through the stories you all are sharing about what the carnival rides meant to your kids. It has confirmed for me that this event is the heartbeat of our town and we cannot let it disappear without a fight.

Seeing this kind of outpouring proves that our town remembers what Home Days is really about. My own kids are already asking about the rides and I am so grateful to have all of you by my side to protect these traditions.

I understand an undesirably large number of people from outside our community show up at this event. If there is a budget issue, we should introduce a small admission fee to non-residents of Brook Park, Berea, or Middleburg Heights, keeping the games, attractions, vendors, and (most importantly) local businesses/non-profits.
This city will lose money if Home Days (not community days) is taken away! Ever heard of "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"? You are really going to piss off a lot of people and don't count on a re-election for yourself Coyne!
I looked forward to Homedays every year during my childhood. Now that I have a child, I'd like for him to experience it as well. No other cities homedays compares to Brook Park. However, if they give away with Homedays - I will spend my money at surrounding cities for my son to enjoy rides/games/fair food.
As an old timer of Brook park, home days has ALWAYS been a excellent tradition for my family, a time to run into old friends.
Maybe there is a better way to make it more beneficial /profitable to the city, getting rid of it completely isn't the answer. People enjoy the rides and food! if done correctly it should generate income.
This has becoma a tradition. It was so sad walking over there today. The people working don't even want to be there.

I want my children to be able to experience Home Days just like I did at their ages. Taking this away is NOT what this once great city is about. I am all about supporting Brook Park, but if they take away Home Days I will have to take my children and my money to surrounding cities that will have carnivals.
