UPDATE ....
There will now be transportation from Liberty to the Boys and Girls Club thank you everyone for your support
I am asking all parents who are in the Cherokee County
School system to please sign my petition. I am appealing to the school board to
add a drop off at the Boys and Girls club of metro Atlanta to a bus route
leaving Liberty Elementary School. I am asking that the school add a stop on
the route that currently drops children at the Alexander Ridge apartments. The
club is just 1.25 miles from the apartments and only 2.19 miles from the school
itself.
I am a single parent who relies on the Boys and Girls club
as childcare for my daughter. There are currently 13 additional families from
Liberty who are either from single parent homes or homes that need both parents
to work and need to utilize the services of the Club but cannot due to
transportation issues. I understand Liberty offers aftercare, as for me I work
25 miles away and need the added time the Boys and Girls club offers, I am not
physically able to get to the school to pick up by the time they close. In addition the club offers homework
assistance, life skills and many programs that expand my daughters mind and
social thinking.
So again I am asking if you would please sign this petition and
give a hand up to many families who need the services of the Club.
Both my kids attend Liberty Elementary and I would love if we could have to option of the Boys and Girls Club.
