A COMMUNITY CAFE AT THE BEDFORD HILLS TRAIN STATION

The historic train station has a special prominence in Bedford Hills. Located in the heart of the hamlet, it is a defining feature of our town. After speaking with many people who live and work here, Bedford Hills LIVE realized that the STATION HOUSE could be a venue for bringing new interest and vitality to our community:

*A GATHERING PLACE, serving food and beverages 7 days/week, with wine and beer available.

*A place SERVING THE NEEDS & INTERESTS OF ALL MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY as a lively location for story times, educational forums--whatever special activities and events neighborhood organizations may want to offer. Weekends featuring rotating entertainment (e.g., live music, dances, games night, karaoke), with special events for teens, seniors, and other groups. A portion of the café would be dedicated to special exhibitions that change monthly and may be offered by local organizations, The BH Historical Museum, schools, artists, and others.

*A place OFFERING ATTRACTIONS (including continuation of the FARM MARKET) THAT WILL BRING RESIDENTS AND VISITORS to our hamlet.

THIS IS HOW THE VISION FOR A NONPROFIT COMMUNITY CAFE AT THE STATION HOUSE EMERGED.

HOW do we plan to do this? With the cooperation of our TOWN GOVERNMENT, help from "FRIENDS OF THE STATION CAFÉ," historic preservation grant opportunities, and YOUR SIGNATURE, showing your support!

PLEASE SIGN THE ENDORSEMENT HERE OR IT IS AVAILABLE AT THE SATURDAY FARM MARKET.

THANK YOU for participating!!

Armonk is a thriving Town without a train station.....Just think how exciting and bustling Bedford Hills could be if they put forth the same effort !

Isn't this worth a try? Hamlets are dying as the new economy takes much of the act of shopping out of bricks and mortar stores. I don't want B.H, to be a ghost town.

Building community is so important, especially in our digital age. This seems like an opportunity for Bedford Hills and the surrounding areas to do just that. I also think it is great that the farmers' market is accessible by public transportation and walkable for many.

This is critical to the vitality of our community and important to the health of our real estate market in Bedford.

Great idea! This is the perfect venue to show off our fabulous community groups and to get foot traffic for our businesses in town.

As a retail store owner in Bedford Hills, I feel that the proper use of the train station is critical to the future of struggling small businesses in the hamlet.

I think a community cafe at the Train Station would be an excellent addition to the Bedford Hills Downtown area.
