The school board finally backed down and locked in our fall break. We forced them to listen to the families instead of ignoring us. Enjoy the time off because we earned every single day of it.

The school board is watching these numbers and we need to hit two hundred fifty to force them to listen. Get this link in front of every other parent you know right now.

I support the current approved calendar. This was worked on tirelessly by a committee, and approved by the board. We should give it a year and then reflect collaboratively after that year. Now, someone has drafted an alternate calendar for the high school that has a few days off in October and zero spring break, and school finished weeks before the rest of the district. As a parent who will have children at the high school & elementary at the same time, as well as being a employee on the elementary calendar, this will cause a lot of hardship within my own family.

I support the school board's decision to have a fall break. I respect the fact they are trying to make decisions that are best for ALL students and staff. The goal is preparing ALL students, and to do that, we need passionate and energetic staff, time to collaborate and prepare the best curriculum for our students, and the support from home. Trust those who work with your children every day. They are our guiding force, and what's best for them is our top priority. It's five days. Let's give it a try and re-visit the topic next year.

I am in support of fall break. I feel it provides a much-needed mental break for the students and staff, and allows everyone to return renewed. With the long wait to get the calendar finalized, it does not make sense to go back and extend the process even further, as it has already delayed planning for next year that needs to get underway.

I am in full support of fall break. I have been on both the traditional BCSD calendar and the balanced calendar and have seen the benefits a fall break can provide for students!

I'm not sure what all the fuss is about. I've been an Armstrong parent for over 16 years. We have enjoyed fall break every year, as a family. It benefits not only the children and parents, but also the teachers and staff.

When the school board has already taken a long time to finally approve a calendar, I feel that it is unnecessary to continue this battle. A decision has been made; let's stick with it. A fall break has benefited students and staff, giving them a much needed break to keep from burning out early in the year. Furthermore, with the calendar being put out so far in advance, everyone has ample time to make childcare arrangements if need be.

Not sure why a week long fall break is necessary, but will support the calendar voted on by the board. Do not want to see a calendar with no spring break for high school.

The district needs to consider what is best for the majority of students.
