I would love a baseball team in Madison, but the city simply cannot afford this. Our city council should not spend this much money without giving the voters an opportunity to voice their opinion in a referendum.
Huntsville with all their future plans and current developments didn't pursue this....that's a red flag. Madison is attempting to bail out the floundering town Madison development and hosing the residents next to the development in the process.
Why should the Mayor and City Council be able to commit a minimum of $46M to a Ball Stadium and no commitment for a $20M immediate school expansion? Please sign this petition to afford the Citizens of Madison an opportunity to vote yes/no to this major ($46M) expenditure.
This is a community matter that should be decided by the residents of Madison City and not left to only the decision of the Madison city council and Mayor. If tax dollars or Municipal bonds are going to be used, residents have the right to know how their public funds are being spent.
Traffic is already congested to the point it takes me 45 minutes on normal days to drive just 5 miles. If this implemented it will invite more traffic and more noise. This belongs somewhere away from residential areas. Thank you.
I think the registered Madison voters should be able to vote on whether or not we want to invest in a baseball stadium.

I disagree with the attendance estimates and don't think the team will happily use the stadium for 30 years while we pay it off. Please consider shifting more of the risk to the team and less to the city. Otherwise, please find something else for that space.
