\'This is a petition calling for the modernisation and standardisation of baggage allowance and charges imposed by UK airlines. Each UK airline has their own interpretation of what snowsports equipment is used by enthusiasts and professionals. Due to lack of clear and modern understanding of what type of baggage can be used to transport equipment, blanket charges are imposed by airlines on customers wishing to travel with their equipment. Many enthusiasts are unhappy with being advised various different charges and allowances for their baggage, in some cases even by the same company. I am not disputing the fact that charges exist for oversized baggage, however there seems to be some confusion as to what can be included in a \'Wheelie/Board/Ski\' Bag, and why enthusiasts are penalised for wanting to take just one bag (such as a wheelie bag) packed with the necessary clothes and equipment, rather than a 30% full equipment bag and a 70% full suitcase, due to airline \'liability\'. This petition will hopefully show that many people are unhappy with the way the charges are structured, unclear as to what exactly you can take in one piece of luggage, and that this an issue which needs to be addressed to ensure that the both the airline customer is happy and the allowance is within the airline\'s legal requirements. This isn\'t an \'money vs. environment\' issue; as stated it is not the charges which are the problem, but the grey areas in the baggage policy which make it inconvenient and confusing to passengers and inefficient for airlines themselves.\'

I am currently cataloging your stories about inconsistent baggage fees to present as a formal report to the Civil Aviation Authority. Send an email to your local member of Parliament today demanding they push for clear national standards for sports equipment carriage. Post this petition link on your Facebook page so we can gather more accounts of these confusing policies.

The momentum behind this push is real and shows how frustrated people are with these inconsistent baggage policies. Now we need to turn this energy into action by emailing your local representative and demanding a clear, national standard for equipment allowances.

So frustrating when you get to the gate and they decide your bag is suddenly oversized. STOP THE BLANKET CHARGES.

Fix this please! It is impossible to plan a trip when the rules change every time you check the website.

Every time I go to fly they tell me something different at the desk. So sick of the hidden fees and the confusion. Sort it out.

Ridiculous that I have to pay extra just because I put my boots in the same bag as my board. It makes zero sense and just costs me more money every single trip.

Been hit with these unfair fees way too many times. Airlines need to get a grip and make these rules actually clear for everyone.

Just want to pack one bag man. Why do they force you to spread stuff out just to pay double fees? Total rip off.
