The police finally took action and Ricky B. Gurley is now in custody. Losing Cameron broke my heart but seeing this progress brings a small measure of peace to our family. We will stay focused on the upcoming court proceedings to ensure true justice is served.

On May 22nd, 2017, Cameron Scott Caruthers was murdered by being shot in the stomach with a shotgun by Ricky B. Gurley. While the cops are still investigating the murder, the people would like to see him arrested for being a convicted felon in possession of a fire arm. He was convicted of felonious restraint years ago, and is not legally allowed to be in possession of a fire arm. However cops here don't seem to care, and have not made an arrest. Please sign this petition in hopes that someone will take this seriously, and put a murderer behind bars where he needs to be. Cameron was loved by many, and deserves to see some justice.

I carry Cameron’s memory with me every day and the lack of action from the local authorities is a constant insult to his life. Your signatures are proving that this town will not stay silent while a convicted felon walks free after taking a son from his family. We are keeping the pressure on the investigators until they finally acknowledge the law.

Seeing this kind of momentum brings some hope back that we might finally see justice for Cameron. It is painful to realize so many people see the truth of this situation while the authorities remain silent.

This guy should not be in possession of a firearm but why is he not already being held for the act itself? Makes absolutely no sense!!
My hopes are that they are waiting to file these charges until the conclusion of the investigation. The prosecutor will not be able to file charges until he receives all of the police reports. It will be at his discretion whether to do so at that time. This being said, if no charges are filed at the conclusion of the investigation, please make sure this petition is sent to the prosecuting attorney, Dan Knight, as he is an elected official. If he is aware that his constituents want to see the law upheld, it will carry a lot of weight for him to do so. Thank you all for taking the initiative to make sure our voices are heard and that justice is served ♡
I'm not going to let this rest until justice is served. Put this psychotic murderer away before he does it again. History dictates that we often repeat ourselves. Would you do something if it were YOUR son? I can't begin to describe the anguish of watching a mother bury her son, and a ten year old daughter burying her daddy. Yet here we are, petitioning law enforcement to do their job and uphold the law. I don't care who's lining whose pockets. You have a responsibility to do what is right and protect your citizens. You took an oath before God and man. We do not take this lightly nor should you.
This case has been so botched from the get go. Why was this man allowed to remain, inside the house that should have been marked off as a crime scene? Why do witnesses contradict themselves in the media. I have knew Cameron most of my life. #JusticeForCameron

No surprise. Ricky's stalking/harassment antics are well known, even in the private investigator community. He was denied his PI license in Missouri for these antics. He's also done time for more than just felonious restraint.
