The council finally approved our plans to transform the building on Poplar High Street. Seeing this eyesore get a new life honestly means the world to me after years of watching it fall apart. I will keep you posted as the renovation work begins.

Please support our hotel application submitted to London Borough of Tower Hamlets ref: PA/15/02929 for 244 Poplar High Street London E14 0BB. We are proposing a change of use from B1 (a) Office Use and B8 Storage and Distribution to C1 hotel use.
The proposal will bring much needed investment to improve the building and improve the facade and appearance of the building.
This 1970s building has had mixed use for the past 20 years and is not playing any positive function in the community. The proposal for a 34 bedroom hotel will allow for the comprehensive renovation of the building’s internal areas and upgrade of all mechanical and electrical services.
The hotel will contribute towards economic growth, tax revenue and providing jobs to local people.

I have spent the last few days meeting with planning officials to discuss how this project can finally breathe some life back into our neighborhood. Seeing the growth of this movement reminds me that the long years of looking at this neglected building are finally coming to a turning point.

Seeing this kind of backing for the renovation of the old building on Poplar High Street means everything to me. This project represents a real chance to turn a neglected space into an asset for our neighborhood.

Perfect idea for a disused eyesore on Poplar High St. I have been working locally for the past 10 years and i can instantly see the benefits this will have on the local area. We should all encourage creative investment.
I have lived in the area for over 25 years. I think this is a great idea, it would not only help in developing the area, but also help develop local businesses.
a commendable idea with intent to regenerate the local area and provide job opportunities for the local community. i believe the local community should get priority for job opportunities
I am a lease holder for a commercial property on poplar high street, in think this venture would be a very good idea and planning permission and change of usage should be granted
I think this is a brilliant plan for the poplar area. The businesses around canary wharf would have easy access to the proposed hotel.

I am a leaseholder and have been living opposite this building for last 16 years; It's an excellent idea and I hope they will convert the WHOLE building into a hotel now, current use of garage/tyre shop on the ground floor is a nuisance and attracts bad crowd. This will regenerated the vicinity & bring little class to the area.
