Implement Speed Limit Enforcement & Road Safety Measures in Ancaster, Lincolnshire.

Our village has a 30mph speed limit but 99% of traffic to not abide by this. You can FEEL the traffic thundering past! It is a tragedy waiting to happen, a child wouldn't stand a chance against those speeds & volume of traffic! Ermine Street also serves as a rat run from A17 to the major routes making the situation even worse! The light up signs that flash if speeding or a speed camera around the bridge area would be a start but I feel road humps is the only way to put a stop to this. When you consider the amount of children all walking to school on a much to narrow footpath this really is a fatal accident waiting to happen & something needs doing FAST before a child is injured or worse, killed! I'm shocked that the council will not do anything about this! There reason?? There has been no serious accidents on this stretch of road!!! I'm completely shocked at this as they are almost saying a child needs to be killed before they will take action!! Please sign & share!!

I spent the morning watching the traffic on Ermine Street and it is honestly terrifying how fast people fly past that little school path. The council keeps telling me they need a serious incident before they act but I refuse to wait for a tragedy to prove how dangerous this really is.

I really never thought this would gain this much steam but here we are and it makes me think about those kids walking down Ermine Street every single morning while traffic just flies by like they are invisible. It feels like the council finally has to look at us now because this momentum is actually terrifyingly real compared to where we were when I first hit publish on this thing.

I live on the Main Street (ermine) speeding vehicles are a daily occupancy. Not just cars but heavy goods vehicles. Going so quick they don't notice they have clipped my wing mirrors. There's an infant school with no crossing not long before a child is killed.
We live in the village and our children attend the school, cars, lorry, trucks or tractors thunder down the road with no care for the speed limit. It will not be long before a serious accident happens.
It's the non residents of the village using it as a cut through that speed, if it was their village I'm sure they wouldn't, it would be better if it wasn't used as a cut through!! this is our village where our children go to school they should have more respect!
According to Highways Agency and Police they won't do anything about the speeding as no one has been killed on this road since a lady in the 1970's! It's disgusting that they basically are saying they won't act until someone is killed!
I live just past the bridge in st martins getting out of here for work in the morning i witness cars approaching the bridge ( prior to temp traffic lights being up) in excess of 50-60 miles an hour and some break at the bridge and some don't , that someone has to be killed to achieve the speed restrictions is a shameful statement by our council.
As there is a school on the main road, speeding needs to be slowed right down to 20mph by the school.
Please make our village safe so me and my friends can stay safe while we play!

I drive through here most mornings after 6am in a 3.5T van at the posted speed (Slower in fact as when the van says 30 it means 27). I usually get overtaken in the village by impatient drivers who know it is a difficult overtake on the high dyke heading to Cranwell. Two occations the have jumped the temporary lights at the Cranwell end.
