As there is a school on the main road, speeding needs to be slowed right down to 20mph by the school.

In the last few weeks there has been a massive increase in bridge strikes on the railway bridge on the main road through village. This alone presents dangerous situation and tied with the speeding makes the village very unsafe. PLEASE PLEASE keep signing and sharing the petition. The local papers are going to do a story so we need as many signatures as possible before then! Lets together make this village a safe place to live. THANK YOU. Lynsey

The speeds vehicles travel down Ermine Way is dangerous and if nothing is done soon an accident will happen.

According to Highways Agency and Police they won't do anything about the speeding as no one has been killed on this road since a lady in the 1970's! It's disgusting that they basically are saying they won't act until someone is killed!

I drive through here most mornings after 6am in a 3.5T van at the posted speed (Slower in fact as when the van says 30 it means 27). I usually get overtaken in the village by impatient drivers who know it is a difficult overtake on the high dyke heading to Cranwell. Two occations the have jumped the temporary lights at the Cranwell end.

I live on the Main Street (ermine) speeding vehicles are a daily occupancy. Not just cars but heavy goods vehicles. Going so quick they don't notice they have clipped my wing mirrors. There's an infant school with no crossing not long before a child is killed.

I agree, my little brother goes to the primary school and knowing that there is always that chance he could get hurt is very worrying, therefore I agree that the speed limit needs to be addressed more appropriately to drivers and pedestrians.

I remember two ladies dieing on the road outside the butchers in the early eighties when the speed limit was 40 mph.

Put up a speed camera. That should slow people down, or fill the councils pockets with speeding fine profits.

Thank you everyone for keeping on sharing. We've had almost 30 new signatures in 2 days!!! If any of you have friends and family who aren't on the Internet perhaps you would sign for them under a different email address so that all villagers get to speak out on this as many will have had to put up with this longer than us!! Keep on signing and sharing!! THANK YOU!! xx

As an ex villager I total agree with the option of speed cameras in the village I visit family in the village and abide by the 30 mph speed limit but witness traffic screaming threw the village at hi speed

as previously mentioned the speed at which the traffic comes through the village at is ridiculous even when on the rare occasions that the police have the speed traps in the village they have to be in view so the traffic has time to slow down . But you know nothing is going to be done done because 95% of this happens before the authorities start work and as they are finishing work so nobody is going to come and see the problems first hand as said before until someone is killed it will go unnoticed.

Speed cameras definitely needed, min of 2. Tractors even speed through our village!! Sooner the better.
