We are petitioning the City of Anaheim to conduct a Parking & Traffic Study of West Center Street Promenade between Clementine Street & Harbor Boulevard.
Due to the new popularity of the neighborhood Parking and Safety Issues are increasing.
The City of Anaheim has an official process to request a traffic study for a neighborhood and we are following that process as published on the official request form: http://www.anaheim.net/DocumentCenter/View/255
With this online survey we hope to provide the city more ideas, comments and signatures to truly illustrate the need and to make sure our request isn't simply considered but in fact that a study is done, the community involved, meaningful solutions ideated and action taken.

I have been documenting every near-miss and dangerous maneuver on West Center Street to show the city exactly what we face daily. The silence from the planning office is frustrating but I am compiling our data to force a real conversation about the safety of our neighbors.

Seeing this kind of momentum confirms that I am not the only one worried about the dangers on West Center Street. This growing support gives me real hope that the city will finally listen to the people who walk these blocks every day.

I have lived on Center St Promenade for over 5 years. This street is congested and the parking has become a big problem. The traffic in downtown Anaheim has increased due to the great retail/restaurant additions made, but the parking situation must be fixed.
This summer I started coming downtown to meet friends at the ice rink during practice and liked shopping on the street BUT after far too many near accidents and a new ding on my drivers door I actually fear going to downtown Anaheim. Seriously, does someone need to die before the city fixes this mess.
I agree the parking, traffic for the college, fast food please and skating ring has increased tremendously over the past 5 and a half years. Not only people are double parked on the street but they are parked in front of our Harbor Lofts gates entrance that we can not even enter our home. Study and a solution is urgently needed. Unit 212.
The traffic pattern on this street needs to be changed into a one way direction with inbound from Harbor. Also parking spots should be diagonally spaced out 10.5 feet apart.
People often double park, park in the driveway, the loading zone, red zone, and crosswalks. Very annoying as a resident. Parking enforcement isn't around enough to keep people from illegally parking. You could put an officer just between the roundabout and Harbor and easily pay their wage 10 fold.
I love this area, I love Pokinometry, but In order to support this business I have to go through madness to park! I have seen many people endanger pedestrians and other drivers to 'get their spot'. It is ridiculous. Please look into a way to make this better!!!
We need to get this situation under control. The parking, driving, u-turns, and close calls ... please, the city needs to conduct a study.

I stopped going to this area but the problem is the in-and-run businesses like coffee, banking and take away food. Drivers behave much worse because you know, "I'm just getting to go sushi so I can park here" and this not worry about the problems I cause! Other cities have fixed this problem and both Huntington Beach and Pasadena are examples.
