Anaheim Safer Parking Petition

I love this area, I love Pokinometry, but In order to support this business I have to go through madness to park! I have seen many people endanger pedestrians and other drivers to 'get their spot'. It is ridiculous. Please look into a way to make this better!!!

I stopped going to this area but the problem is the in-and-run businesses like coffee, banking and take away food. Drivers behave much worse because you know, "I'm just getting to go sushi so I can park here" and this not worry about the problems I cause! Other cities have fixed this problem and both Huntington Beach and Pasadena are examples.

I have lived on Center St Promenade for over 5 years. This street is congested and the parking has become a big problem. The traffic in downtown Anaheim has increased due to the great retail/restaurant additions made, but the parking situation must be fixed.

We need to get this situation under control. The parking, driving, u-turns, and close calls ... please, the city needs to conduct a study.

It's a hassle to visit my family that lives on West Center Street Promenade.

Terrible problems downtown so bad that I try to go elsewhere. I can't imagine the city promoting downtown as people will come once and not return.

One of the biggest problems on the Harbor end of Center Street is the sushi restaurant because the patrons behave so bad double parking, illegal parking, frantic turns all because they are just running in to get to-go food. I can't believe the city doesn't just stand outside and give tickets because the money generated could build a parking garage!

This summer I started coming downtown to meet friends at the ice rink during practice and liked shopping on the street BUT after far too many near accidents and a new ding on my drivers door I actually fear going to downtown Anaheim. Seriously, does someone need to die before the city fixes this mess.

I love going to the Goodwill Rare store, but lately I can't even get to the door with lack of parking. I think because of the issues there is a lot of road rage as well. I used to be excited to shop at Rare but now I would rather go to Fullerton because the car environment is so NEGATIVE and I would rather drive a little farther to avoid even dealing with that.

I agree the parking, traffic for the college, fast food please and skating ring has increased tremendously over the past 5 and a half years. Not only people are double parked on the street but they are parked in front of our Harbor Lofts gates entrance that we can not even enter our home. Study and a solution is urgently needed. Parking needs to be fixed! There are times the gates are blocked by people waiting for food from poki's.

Lack of parking problem needs a solution. Let City of Anaheim figure out or solicit solutions to ease the parking problem. Its good for business and the local economy.

I love Pokinometry. But I do not frequent the restaurant NEARLY as much as I'd like, strictly due to parking issues. Finding parking closeish by/dealing with the parking on that street eats up half my lunch hour, and it ends up not even being worth it. I would head out that way and spend a lot more money if I could just find a darn parking spot anywhere in the near vicinity. Just fyi.

For anyone unfamiliar with the area and entering the promenade from Harbor Blvd., it is not evident where to park. As a result, people stop to figure it out, blocking traffic and driveways. I also believe that the current parking problem is contributing to the retail space on the first level of the Harbor Lofts going unleased. The area does NOT have adequate parking.

Better parking enforcement would be a start. Handing out tickets for double parking and taking two parking spots. Having Wells Fargo assist in adding another drive up ATM and or letting their patrons park in a designated area on the Broadway side of the block might help as well as a nominal fee for parking in that parking lot that seems to be unused. Letting the retailers let their patron's know they can park there with out paying. Something!

Is there anyway we can sign a contract with Wells Fargo to be able to park in their parking lot and pay a monthly fee. Something that's reasonable.

Parking on West Center Street Promenade is a disaster. There are cars consistently double parked, parked on the sidewalk, and stopped in the middle of the road waiting to take spots as people walk to their cars to leave. This has created such a mess that I may not bother shopping in this area again until this is fixed.

As a Anaheim resident who utilizes Center Street Promenade daily, I am in strong support of a traffic study and taking action to improve the parking, safety and overall traffic flow on the street. With a number of busy business, offices and homes on the west end of the street, there are constant issues with drivers double parking, parking in no parking areas, blocking driveways, executing 3 point turns that stop the flow of traffic, etc and it's only gotten worse.
