American Sign Language (ASL) is a natural, growing and necessary language. Individual's that suffer from Down syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy, aphasia and other language delays and impairments have used the ASL system to communicate with others. Using your hands and facial expressions make silent movements come to life. Eureka High School (EHS) provides ASL I, ASL II and many other foreign languages. My cause, is to incorporate a third year of ASL into my school curriculum. The benefits of a third year class would include; the opportunity to learn more signs, increased knowledge about the Deaf culture, gramatical rules, learning and memory techniques and the ability to sign fluently within the Deaf community. Please join me in this important cause.
