Next School Year ( 2019-2020 )Reid Ross Classical is not allowing students to wear hoodies . Most high schoolers have been there since the beginning and have spent tremendous amount of money on jackets from the school decorator and now their saying we can’t wear them at all. Also with Winter coming up soon and with school around the corner our students health is a main priority. Our Personal Goal is 400 Signatures Minimum ! THANK YOU !

Updates

July 7, 2019

The administration has acknowledged the petition volume and agreed to an initial discussion regarding the dress code policy. I am currently drafting a formal proposal to address the health and financial concerns raised by our community. Expect an update once the meeting concludes.

I find this new rule pointless. If the rule was made because students might not have on the right shirts under then that could easily be solved by enforcing the rule more and checking. But taking the hoodies away, especially after people has spent money on them, is kind of a stretch for a consequence.

It’s unnecessary really to ban hoodies. Why ban something that students buy every year from the school to feel comfortable. Eventually when it gets cold students will get sick and some will stop coming to school which then people will fall behind and grades will drop. All this can be avoided by returning things to how it used to be.

This rule is very unfair to those who've spent money on hoodies sold by the school within dress code. Also a lot of classrooms in that school are freezing cold throughout Winter, so prepare for a lot of angry parents and sick students I guess.

Why can’t hoodies be worn again? As a parent with children going to Ross since 2007, I have heard no concerns about hoodies. Now, without any conversations or warnings, they are banned? Monies have been spent! Be fair! Give the students their hoodies back!

I don’t feel like it’s fair, since we have been wearing hoodies since our 6th grade year. But now all of a sudden our senior year we can’t. That is a lot of money wasted.

There are a lot of students that walk and if it’s raining the hoodie is protection for them from the ran, it will also insure them from getting sick from their head being exposed to the rain. Please take this into consideration. Caring Mom

We shouldn't have to break the dress code in order to stay warm during the winter

We just paid an outrageous amount for a hoodie that my daughter cant even wear? Do we get a refund? Ever since Mr. Hatch left, this school just gets worse and worse. Power trip? Or what? Let them wear the hoodies, check under them for correct uniform dress code. Common sense people.
