This is a student body lead petition to bring back hoodies to Liberty High School. We as the student body feel like the hoodie ban is an unnecessary and unfair action from the administration and school board. A large majority of our student body wear hoodies responsibly. We as a whole should not be punished for the actions a few.
We just hit two hundred fifty signatures and it is clear the administration cannot ignore us anymore. Principal Miller and the school board think they can just push us around but they are dead wrong.

One hundred students have signed this because the administration at Liberty High continues to ignore our basic comfort. This ban is a joke and the school board needs to realize we aren't going to quit until they reverse this nonsense.

The administration at Liberty High thought they could silence us with a pathetic dress code, but the momentum we have built proves they are terrified of our unity. They are going to have to listen to us whether they like it or not.

Hoodies are NOT the problem. The lack of discipline is the problem. Simple solution...if the hood is up, ask the kids to take it off...if they don't listen then a call to the parent should be made and confiscate the earbuds or whatever until the parent meets with the principal. Follow the rules or suffer the consequences.

As a parent and an educator, I'm not convinced that hoodies pose a safety issue and that banning them will solve it. Should be simple enough for a teacher or administrator to simply say "you can't have a hood up in school" and to punish students who don't follow that basic command.

My children wear hoodies to school because 1 the classrooms are cold during some months and 2 there isn't enough time to put a coat in their locker so they wear hoodies instead. Please reconsider this change. Enforce the existing dress code, don't add more restrictions to the children who follow the rules!

Banning Hoods is just going to start a bigger problem. 85 percent of the long sleeves i have are hoods, so now i have to actually go out and buy more long sleeved shirts to stay warm in a 65 degree environment, and for the staff to even think that kids aren’t going to wear their hoodies is crazy...

We are in school for such a long time throughout our school “career”, some of us don’t even feel comfortable to go to school because of bullies, tests, and it’s much easier to face hard things in life when your comfortable.

There literally isn't a point to banning hoodies. Liberty is just finding another way to get kids in more troubke for VERY stupid and unnecessary things. All of liberty's schools (including the elemantry) are FREEZING. FIX YOUR HEATERS OR DON'T TRY TO TAKE AWAY THE ONLY THING THAT KEEPS THE KIDS WARM

I honestly don't see the point in banning hood wearing when you're allowed to wear a hoodie.
