I recently discovered that my baby miniature pig, Merle, is being threatened to be evicted from my home in Azle. Being that mini pigs are accepted in so many of our neighboring cities in the Fort Worth area, I assumed that he would be accepted in this city as well until Animal Control showed up at my door with a warning to have him removed in 30 days. My pig is house-trained, he doesn't bark, he's about the size of a bull-dog puppy, and he doesn't tear up my house or yard. We cuddle on the couch, he sleeps with me, and he LOVES to let the kids in the neighborhood give him treats and pet him. PLEASE help me petition Azle, Texas to allow its residents to keep these intelligent, loving, sweet, wonderful pets in our homes!

Seeing 500 names on this list has me feeling hopeful that Merle might actually get to stay in our living room. I never imagined so many of you would rally behind a little pig who just wants to cuddle on the couch.

Seeing this kind of momentum feels like a weight lifting off my chest as I look at Merle curled up on the couch. I truly never expected so many people to care about my sweet boy and his right to stay in our home. Your support shows the city that families like mine belong here with our pets.

I once had a pet pig when I was a kid. They are as smart as dogs and make wonderful pets for the right people. I can't believe they are illegal here now! It's not right! Pot belly pigs aren't like livestock pigs... they are smaller and often are kept indoors like a dog!
This pet is cleaner and quieter than a dog. Azle needs to step into this century. If larger cities "get it", it is time for you to stop being legalistic because this is not a traditional pet

Whether an animal is classified as a farm animal or domesticated pet should be determined by the role they are in. A minature pig whose role is a domesticated pet should be allowed in the city limits.
Miniature pigs are not livestock. I live in the county with our mini pig. She's a year old and about 75lbs. Very clean animals. Not destructive. Please allow miniature pigs in city limits.
It is only a very small pig. People own dogs that are bigger than that.

I find this absurd as they are cleaner then cats and dogs. Also they do not get out and kill other people's pets as dogs do. Also the fact that I could have a goat in city limits or a horse both much bigger then a micro mini pot belly pig but not a pig is ridiculous
