We the undersigned are requesting that Miguelangel Acosta be allowed to finish the 10th grade school year at Calvary Christian School - Old Bridge. Miguelangel is being forced to leave the school effective immediately for being repeatedly disruptive in class. Miguelangel has ADHD which affects impulsivity, hyperactivity, short attention span and difficulty focusing. There has been no serious offense that has taken place, but a series of smaller continued behaviors due to his ADHD diagnoses, it is not a proportional punishment to expel Miguelangel from the school he has been in since kindergarten.

Those who know Miguelangel know him to be a good natured, kind-hearted happy kid who loves to make people laugh, shows love and kindness to everyone he knows and always has a smile on his face. He has grown up in this community and is loved by many. To treat him as a major offender is not justified nor is it Christian like. We are requesting that CCS extends grace and compassion by allowing him to finish the school year as there are only two more months of school left.

The school administration remains silent despite the evidence we have provided about his needs. It is exhausting to keep pushing when they refuse to engage with the reality of what he is going through. We are not backing down because he deserves the chance to finish his year among his peers.

Seeing the momentum behind this request is heavy but necessary work. It feels like the community sees the person Miguelangel actually is instead of just the struggles he faces.

There are boys at that school who have put there hands on female students and get 3 day suspensions or no severe punishment at all… repeated or not CCS accepted Miguel knowing he had ADHD to expel him for acting like it when he is no danger to anyone is excessive. It is more Christian to offer him more help not less. CCS prides its self on being more than a school and a church but also a community. What part of quitting on a kid in need of help 2/3 of the way through a school year is community like or Christian like? If he needs help I would be proud to be part of the effort. I understand others would be as well. Feel free to contact me on this matter.

He was told to leave and never return there have been no efforts to give Grace instead he is thrown to the wolves and forced to go to public school which they can’t even allow him to start until May because of all the paperwork and things involved. Calvary forces him to lose an entire month of school.

the way miguelangel has been treated is not right. he is a good kid that needs support and does not deserve any of this. at the very least he should be allowed to finish up the school year. expecting him to join another school with so little time left in the school year is really unfair.

Please consider allowing him to complete the school year. This is a major hardship for him and his family. Mathew 18:22

I have known Angie and Miguel for about five years now she is a hard-working mom. She is strict and does the best she can as a single mom Miguel just likes to be a class clown. He is never malicious or mean or disrespectful to anyone sometimes he makes silly mistakes. He does not deserve this at all. He should be allowed to finish the school year.

Thank you to everyone who supported us by signing this petition. Thank you for expressing and sharing kind words towards Miguelangel . I know he is loved by many. This has been an extremely difficult time for us and truly devastating that he will not be allowed to finish the school year. It’s truly heartbreaking that after all these years the school administration would kick him out the way they did. Even though this petition did not result in him being allowed to return to school, it did however, make a strong statement. A statement that says he is supported and loved by Everyone who knows him and he has made an impact on many peoples lives. He is a good kid, kind hearted, funny loving and thoughtful! Above all made in God perfect image. “Let all that you do be done in love” 1 Corinthians 16:14. I know as a mother I have done everything I can to advocate for my son and I will continue to do so. Thank you all for your prayers and support.
