Cultural/Religious tattoos and jewellery are significant expressions of heritage and identity for many students attending Macleans. These symbols foster a sense of belonging and pride, contributing positively to the school environment. Denying Macleans College students the right to display their cultural and religious heritage can lead to feelings of exclusion and diminish their cultural identity. By allowing visible cultural/religious tattoos and jewellery, schools can promote inclusivity, respect, and diversity. Sign this petition to support the recognition of cultural and religous expressions in our school!

I really thought this might just float around the internet unnoticed but seeing the momentum build makes my head spin in the best way possible. It is honestly wild how many people feel the exact same way about this identity issue and I am just sitting here staring at my screen because I did not expect this level of response.

even though this has nothing to do with me this could help others represent themselves and be proud of who they are

I agree that we should be able to express ourselves with Cultural/Religious tattoos and jewellery freely

Having a ban on jewellery etc has no effect on students, never once has a necklace or a tattoo gotten in the way of learning , it’s about expressing yourself and your culture. ❤️

I think this is great and people should stop dismissing the fact that people have culture tattoos and jewellery and disrespecting them.

Macleans says they are all about diversity and yet we have to get their "permission" to wear our own cultural/religious jewellery, doesn't sound like diversity to me!

For a school that strives to be diverse only accepts the forgein people not the culture with them

This is a basic human right, which should not be stopped but some policies.
