Allow blackout uniforms for MIHS varsity girls soccer
In 2021 the MIHS girls varsity soccer team was permitted to buy their own blackout uniforms (paid for by players individually and customized with last names on the back) and wear them for home games. The following season, school administrators decided against allowing girls soccer players to use these uniforms, arguing that black is not a school color and therefore cannot be used to represent school athletes. It seems unfair that both the MIHS softball and baseball teams wear black uniforms that have been provided through school ASB funding, but admin will not permit girls soccer to wear black uniforms. This would not cost the school anything and players would still use their maroon jerseys from time to time, all we need is a stamp of approval from school administrators. The MIHS girls soccer team is simply asking you to sign this petition to help us get that stamp of approval so we can wear blackout uniforms in the 2024 season.
