This petition is addressed to the Aquia Harbour Property Owners Association Board of Directors: Produce a request for proposal to replace the POA staff in its entirety, with a private property management company & contractors as needed.

A profit driven company in this situation provides the residents and the BOD with a wide array of benefits. First and foremost, they are detached from the community and without bias. Second, with profit driving their decisions, our Finance & Administration costs would most likely be reduced. Third, companies in this position have a history in the industry and other contracts that can be used to leverage contractors for better pricing on projects. Fourth, they will be held accountable to the board, any shortfalls can easily be addressed or ultimately resolved by bringing in a new management company. Finally, monthly reports to the board would detail all expenses and income, projects, etc...to keep the board & residents up to date in regards to the management of our community.

As we face another potential increase in our annual dues, it has become obvious that the way the Aquia Harbour Property Owners Association has historically been run is simply not working. Mismanagement, neglect, budget shortfalls, and poor communication, have plagued this community for decades.The latest finance committee discussions have included raising dues while continuing to fund potentially unnecessary events & aspects of our POA.

The time has come to bring in professional help to ensure that this community thrives.A Private Property Management company can come in and without prejudice or preference, make the necessary changes. As such, I strongly request that the BOD obtain proposals to that end.
