Add A Closer safer bus stop

Currently, children in the Greenview School District are being picked up and dropped off on the edge of a busy main road that provides no barrier to protect them from traffic driving 40 miles an hour, or more. There are construction vehicles and Semi trucks that use it as a main route to get to nearby road construction and the Highway. The risks to the safety of the children are significant. They are at risk for being hit by a vehicle due to the vehicle losing control, especially in Ohio's icy winters. There is further risk with children running into the roadway and getting hit by a vehicle. All of these risks pose significant safety hazards for the children.
The transportation supervisor has denied a stop located closer to the location of 33 North limestone due to her own discretion. There is no written policy preventing it. I also have talked with the police of Chief and he said he has No problem a stop being added at the corner of adams and 72 / North Limestone , or even in front of our house on 72 or the post office . We live on the main road that most of the buses to the elementary drive by us as I have to walk 7 little children from the ages of 2-9 along the busy road 1/4 mile down to almost the school itself. I cant imagine doing this when its snowing and freezing out and the window for pick up is 15 minutes( on either side of 7:45 ) that we could be waiting for the bus on the busy road . The option available is to ask the superintendent and board of directors to intervene and require the bus stop be moved closer where it is much safer despite some of the arguments the transportation superviser has made.
It is the district transportation manager who has the right to make the decision of where the bus stops are. Although She is required to find a safe area, the policies don't specifically state what a safe area is, leaving "safe" as a matter of interpretation. Please take a stand and sign the petition today. Let the district know that safety cannot be compromised. Please sign I need your support when I go the school board meeting September 17th 2015 to fight this even more then I have the last couple months trying to have this stop moved closer . Thank you in advance Sherrie Brown
