We, the undersigned, are opposed to the proposed change to ECC Rule Section 202. A.  "A temporary accessory structure is defined as a swing set with or without slides and other attached accessories, above ground pools, trampolines and other similar structures."  Our opposition is also to the $200 ECC fee for play structures on the 2013-2014 Fee Schedule.

For over 40 years Bear Valley Springs has functioned without this rule.  This is a direct assault on families with children.  A $200 fee adds an additional hardship to families during these difficult economic times.  The need to gain approval for placement of such structures on our private property is an absurd degree of government oversight.

All signers must be Bear Valley Springs property owners and must include tract and lot number.

Updates

August 12, 2013

I have submitted a formal request for a meeting with the ECC board to address these rule changes. I am currently compiling a report regarding the financial impact this fee has on families to present during that session.

August 12, 2013

The volume of support has secured us a formal meeting with the administrative board to discuss the rule change. I am currently finalizing a letter that outlines our specific objections to the fee structure and the oversight requirements. Expect further updates once the meeting agenda is confirmed.

40 years of doing just fine and now all of a sudden this is a big problem. Leave the homeowners alone.

Ridiculous waste of time and money. Focus on real community issues instead of worrying about where we put a pool.

We moved here specifically for the family environment and now they want to tax us for our kids play space. Absurd.

This is totally ridiculous. 200 dollars for a swing set? Get a grip.

Let families be. My kids need a place to run around and we shouldnt have to pay the association for a trampoline on our own land.
