WHEREAS, the undersigned are against the Zone Code Amendment 2010-01 proposed by the Planning Commission, as written, to Amend Title 18 of the Norco Municipal Code to Regulate the Size, Height, Lot Coverage and Approval Process of Accessory Structures allowed in Agricultural-Residential Zones, Norco Hills Specific Plan Amendment 5 and Norco Ridge Ranch Specific Plan Amendment 4 and amendments to regulate the height and approval process of accessory structures allowed in Specific Plans, approved on June 30, 2010. We ask that the language of the present Norco Municipal Code and Specific Plans regarding accessory structures remain as enacted, with only a modification that prohibits oversized structures and limiting the height of the accessory structure to 20 feet or a height not to exceed the height of the main dwelling. We oppose any regulation requiring a Site Plan Review or Conditional Use Permit for the development of accessory structures allowed under Norco Municipal Code. An applicant may apply for a Conditional Use Permit for an oversized structure exceeding the height and size limitations of the modified Code. We oppose any designation of a contiguous animal keeping area on any property without such when application is made for any accessory structure. We request that every affected property owner be notified by U.S. Mail of any future proposals, whether initiated by the City or the Planning Commission, to reduce or restrict a property owners rights and that such proposals be subject to public hearing.

This is ridiculous. Why should I need a permit for a barn on my own land? Leave the codes the way they are.

Total government overreach. Norco is supposed to be horse country not some suburban neighborhood with hoa rules. stop messing with our homes.

Keep our property rights alone. We bought here specifically for the space and not for someone in city hall to tell us how big our own sheds can be.
