We are petitioning for the full funding of 5 year old, Faith's
treatment of Spinal muscular atrophy, which would improve her ability to
breath, muscular strength, and most importantly, increase her life
expectancy.

We need approval from Faith's secondary insurance company: Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas

5 year old, Faith Fortenberry, was diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA),
a rare and sometimes fatal disease that causes muscle wasting and
weakness and makes every day living a struggle.
In December 2016, the first and only treatment for SMA was approved.
This drug is called Spinraza. The issue with this treatment is that this drug will cost about $750,000 for six injections during the first year.

On March 10, both of Faith's families' insurance companies notified them that they will be funding the treatment to change Faith's life.
(Faith had hope that she might be able to live longer than expected)

On March 31st, the approval was re-evaluated and denied
(Faith lost the hope that she would ever live a normal life)

On April 4th, Scott and White changed their minds again and agreed to provide 80% of treatment costs to save Faith's life if the other company would provide the remaining 20%. The next step was to receive approval from their secondary health insurance, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas. Blue Cross will not agree to pay the remaining 20% of the treatment cost that Scott and White could not cover.

We are petitioning for the full funding of 5 year old, Faith's treatment
of Spinal muscular atrophy, which would improve her ability to breath,
muscular strength, and most importantly, increase her life expectancy.
