Jake S. of Mishawaka IN has a very rare cancer in the orbit of his eye. He moved to Miami FL to get treatment at a center that specializes in these kinds of cancers. He has insurance through North America Administrators which is denying his doctor's chemotherapy regimen, claiming that is not the normal course of treatment. This cancer is very rare and the prognosis poor, however, everyone receiving this type of chemotherapy have survived. Doctors have sent many documents to show that this treatment has become the new standard for this type of cancer at top cancer centers and they are leaders in treating this cancer. Other insurance companies approve this treatment. Despite the doctors and a medical attorneys attempts to appeal the decision, North America Administrators continue to deny treatment. Jake now has a delay in treatment for his cancer due to this rejection. Please sign this petition that will be sent to North America Administrators to let them know that we care about Jake and that he needs this chemotherapy.

We have submitted formal letters to the North America Administrators appeals board detailing why this specific chemotherapy is the necessary standard of care. Legal counsel is now reviewing the insurer's latest denial to identify inconsistencies in their claims process for rare cancer treatments.

Ridiculous red tape. If the experts say this works then it should be covered. Do the right thing for once.

Insurance companies are the worst. They shouldn't be allowed to play god with a patients life when doctors are staring at proof it works.

Unbelievable. My heart goes out to the family. Hope they change their minds before it is too late.

This is absolutely heartbreaking. How can they deny him life saving care because of some outdated rule book? Give the boy his treatment!
