Are you unhappy with the recent actions that the Board of Directors are taking to dismantle the current badminton program at the Vancouver Racquets Club?

Do you wish that the membership had been consulted before these sudden changes were proposed?

Are you concerned about the proposed timeline, changes, and how this may impact the future of the badminton program at the VRC?

Are you frustrated with the treatment of the current coaching staff (Calvin, Ming, Duncan, Billy, and Morgan), all of which have been dedicated, lifelong VRC members and coaches?

Show your support and speak your voice by signing this petition to tell the Board of Directors that you don't agree with their proposed changes and would like the current badminton program and the current coaches to remain in place at the VRC.

** This petition is meant for VRC members **

Thank-you for your support

Calvin Holoboff has been the backbone of high level Canadian badminton on the West coast. He is the mentor who led me to achieve my Canadian National Champion Title. - Joshua Liu

The coaches at VRC have made me the person I am today. They have dedicated so much of their time to help juniors reach their full potential. Some of the top badminton players of my age group have been taught by these coaches. They deserve better treatment and support from VRC.

Junior badminton is vital for the club. My kids love the club because of the junior program. They are the future adult members. Please don't push them out or radically and unnecessarily change the junior program.

Calvin has been an institution at this club. He has dedicated 40+ years to VRC. He deserves better. Under Section 4.8 of the by laws, Directors must act honestly and in good faith in the best interest and purposes of the society. Not sure this has happened. Perhaps the Board should reconsider its actions.

Calvin is an institution at VRC and an asset to the national Badminton community. 40 year coaches deserve a high level of feedback and support, membership should have been more involved. After 40 years VRC owes Calvin an exit plan that is far more fair and gradual than this.

The commitment and skill of the coaches in the vrc badminton program is impeccable as is and I don't believe a change in coaching would benefit the membership. Also, changing the NCCP coaching requirement to a level 1 is not a standard for badminton coaches that I, or my fellow members, would want to see for the future of the program.

I think both sides should present their side of the story and then the members and the board may weigh the reasonableness and the risks of these recent decisions.
