Final supporters
The Windmill Hotel, Pub and Restaurant at Mellor, Blackburn closed in August 2014 and has been listed for sale for some time now. I believe certain bids have been made and I have been informed that letters have been sent to the public who live in Mellor asking permission for 'The Windmill' to converted (knocked down and rebuilt) to an Islamic boys school. In no way is this petition a racial one; it is a stand for a place that staff and the community used to love. Whatever the future plans/intentions may be for 'The Windmill', we must hope that it stays as a pub or restaurant.

I am honestly overwhelmed by the attention this has received. It never occurred to me that so many people felt the same way about our local pub. Thank you for showing that this space still holds a place in our hearts.

So many memories of early adulthood. it has always been a landmark in Mellor, and it needs to remain one
The windmill pub was where I had my first job growing up in Mellor Brooke, it has been a big place in the community for many years!!! It must stay as a pub!
Windmill is a cracking venue, keep the beer flowing

Used to go here every Sunday for dinner with my kids. Its a proper local spot and should stay that way. Dont change it.
