Dear Superintendent Monroe, Superintendent Mousalimas, Superintendent Bowers, Superintendent Thoming, Honorable Alameda County Board of Education Trustees, and Honorable Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District Board of Trustees,

We, parents, voters, and taxpayers, respectfully request that Superintendent Monroe of Alameda County Office of Education and Superintendent Mousalimas of San Joaquin County Office of Education request an Assembly Bill (AB) 139 Extraordinary Audit from the Fiscal Crisis and Management Assistance Team (FCMAT) for Tri-Valley Learning Corporation (TVLC) schools. TVLC operates two charter schools in Alameda County: (1) Livermore Valley Charter School (LVCS); and (2) Livermore Valley Charter Preparatory High School (LVCP), as well as two charter schools in Stockton: (1) Acacia Elementary School (AES); and (2) Acacia Middle School (AMS). Questions regarding potential fraud, misappropriation of funds, illegal fiscal practices, financial mismanagement, student abuse, and private inurement involving the public funds of the four aforementioned schools have been presented by various agencies. AB 139 awards you, Superintendent Monroe, and you, Superintendent Mousalimas, the authority to request an Extraordinary Audit of the school’s finances through the services of FCMAT. AB 139 states such an audit may be appropriate "where COE has reason to believe fraud, misappropriation of funds, or other illegal fiscal practices necessitate COE review."

While we expect you, as superintendents of the counties in which the schools are located, are familiar with the questions and accusations currently being investigated by multiple agencies, we include herein links to the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District and New Jerusalem Elementary School District allegations, respectively. We believe them to necessitate COE review and, having observed repeated requests from multiple agencies for information and financial documentation go unanswered, we believe an Extraordinary Audit to be overdue.

Respectfully,

Undersigned Parents, Voters, and Taxpayers

We are creeping up on that first hundred mark and honestly I really need us to just sprint the rest of the way because the people in charge are definitely looking at these numbers right now. If you have been waiting for the right moment to nudge someone else to sign this is it because we need to show them that this isnt just a small group of us asking for an audit.

Although I do not currently have children in Livermore schools, I have heard about the alleged misappropriation of funds for extravagant personal uses. That is outrageous and unacceptable, and it not only needs to be stopped, but the individuals involved needs to be brought to justice and ordered to make restitution on every single cent.

They took an amazing school that we literally built from nothing and stole from it. Starting with Bill Batchelor these people should be held accountable for stealing from the children of Livermore.

My children attended LVCS for 5 years until we could see that the school was going to fall apart, and soon. We got our children out and into the schools they should have been attending all along. We are absolutely thrilled with the quality of education provided by LVJUSD.

This audit is the only way that TVLC stands a chance of recovering from this mess. There is no trust in the current management or in their ability to make sound financial decisions. It's well past time to figure out where the missing money went.

Very much in favor of an extraordinary audit. There's a lot of evidence of fraud associated with these schools and our elected officials don't seem to be taking the situation seriously.

3.2 million in debt. Where is the bond money and why is there no accountability for those in charge (TVLC). When does it stop?

Thank you for setting this up. Transparency, though a bit late, is the only thing that we wanted out of a charter school.
