As concerned stakeholders of the South Carolina Virtual Charter School, we are deeply troubled by the actions and decisions being made by the board of directors under the leadership of Courtney Suber. The behavior of Courtney Suber undermines the trust and unity of our school and broader community.
It is the belief of all signatories below that the Board Chair, Courtney Suber, is not acting in the best interest of the school, its staff, or its students. We believe it is time to restore accountability and transparency to the governance of the school and prioritize the needs and voices of the community. We, the staff and families of the South Carolina Virtual Charter School, are requesting the immediate resignation of Courtney Suber from the SCVCS Board of Directors. We also request the assurance that recently elected board members will be sworn into office no later than October 1, 2024 and will be able to participate in the appointment(s) of any vacant seat(s).

Reaching this point has been an exhausting grind but the momentum gives me a reason to keep going. I am bone tired, yet the resolve of this community reminds me exactly why we started this fight in the first place.

Depending on the bylaws; I believe the other board members should bring a vote to remove the head chair person and remove the attorney that was present last board meeting. Who doesn't come prepared to be legal counsel?What kind of attorney sits there not able to answer simple bylaw questions and not give councel to the board. Document/ gather the reasons for removal. Have clear and precise evidence, which it seems from the news articles, law suit, and the lack of transparency on the members quitting, not notifying the parents, deceptive removal and replacement of the head of the school all seem evidence enough for me. This last school board meeting was pathetic. Erskine should be ashamed to allow this to continue with out intervention.
Why is the chair allowed to appoint her family member to act as interim head of school? Why do the 3 board members not know how to function zoom?
She conducts board meetings very unprofessionally and doesn't have the schools best interest in mind.
She is power hungry and just wants her friends to get paid. A board member quit after 2 weeks. They don't even have a full board.
Does not conduct herself in a professional way. Is on a vendetta tour instead of doing what is right for the school and staff.
This is unbelievable everyone has rules to follow our children should have been the first priority
Praying for faculty and students of SCVCS. I hope you all find the strength and courage to do what is right and needed.
