We petitioners ask the City of Savannah ZBA and MPC to vote to deny both the special use of an Assembly Hall and attending parking variances requested by 611 Whitaker Street (dba The Whitman).

These variances would severely impact our residential neighborhood and the Landmark District in the following ways:

• An Assembly Hall would be incompatible, intensive, and a commercial use that will contribute to the decline in residential quality-of-life and character of neighborhoods in the Landmark District. This will add more noise, trash, and allow for large parties and attendees outside of what the neighborhood can bear.

• The Whitman already does not have sufficient parking to accommodate the 12-16 inn guests its website advertises, much less the up to 125 event guests touted by the facility that the variance would allow.
