Support Opposition to Zoning Variances for The Whitman Mansion

Please do not continue to destroy Savannah

This is an opportunity for the new City Council to show that they stand with the residents of Savannah, not just with tourist businesses.

The nature of the neighborhood, being historically a residential neighborhood, should be respected. It's time for Savannah's city government to side with and protect the residents of our town instead of catering to and accommodating the tourist trade, which, in my opinion, is ruining Savannah.

The residents that live here pay a premium. As it stands there is not sufficient parking for people that live in this area. The air bnb’s are bad enough dealing with the tenants that rent the properties. I live almost a block from the Whitman and hear the music and can see the lights on late at night. People don’t care about the negative impact on the quality of life for people that LIVE in this area.

Making this an event venue would erode the character of the neighborhood.

My husband and I love your beautiful city with Forsyth Park being our favorite of all your lovely parks. We have several close friends who have bought and renovated homes in the area near The Whitman Mansion. A few questions on the impact to our friends' homes and quality of life: 1. Are homeowners of the area expected to leave their own cars in place on event days in order to assure they(taxpayers) will have a place to park? 2.Will the revenue from up to 125 event attendees be mitigated by the increased need for city services such as trash disposal, noise pollution, increased fire marshall inspections and increased police calls that this huge jump in variances assures? 3. As with most small inns or vacation rentals, the owner lives on the property(at least in Savannah); do these absentee owners live there to be responsible citizens to their neighbors who will be forced to live in close quarters with an "assembly hall"?

Say no ... not appropriate for the neighborhood

The area doesn't have the parking to accommodate the use. Scad paid for parking to do the same behind them. If they don't have the parking they can't have the business.

There is not enough parking and the events are disruptions for the residents

Please honor the quality of life of residents in this area.

This looks like recipe more noise, huge parking, issues. more drinking, and fewer. Maybe it is time to consider the people who made the Victorian district by investing in it rather than those whose only motive is to profit by what We have built.

We don't need more assembly halls downtown. There are already many locations that would fit this use.

Don't ruin the character of this neighborhood.

This. would have a negative impact on Historic Savannah.

I owned 108 west Hall till 2000. Parking is such a problem in the area. Howard street is where we park our cars and the street is very narrow. Please do not create more of a problem in this area for the locals who have helped restore this area. You also have parking problems from SCAD even tho they have a parking lot.

Stop commercial intrusion in residential neighborhoods downtown

Please oppose. We as a neighborhood do not need this increased burden of already scarce parking. Please respect our District as an Historic Neighborhood!

Please do not add to the parking, noise and tourist burden in this beautiful residential neighborhood. Enough.
