The school district confirmed today that Kalief Muhammad is our new head coach. I am drained from this long fight but relieved to see the right person get the position. We will be watching to see how the team settles in under his leadership.

We the Parents, Students, and supporters of the Tompkins High School athletic community support Kalief Muhammad in his employment endeavor to become the next Head Varsity football coach for OTHS. Kalief is a great motivator of football players and one that understands the fundamentals of the game very well. Kalief has succeeded at all levels as a player (High School, College, Professional) and has a perspective unlike others because of his extended playing and coaching experience. Kalief has succeeded and progressed his career as both an educator and coach in the KISD. He has a proven record of assembling the right team of coaches and he works well with all. Kalief is a great man of character and an excellent role model for our young athletes. Moreover, Kalief continually models and embraces the behaviors and core values of:
- Honor
- Leadership
- Strong work ethic
- Unwavering Discipline
- Fortitude
- Compassion
These characteristics we all embrace as fundamental when raising young student athletes of character.

Seeing this kind of backing is a reminder of why we started this fight in the first place. This path is exhausting but looking at the support keeps me focused on the goal.

Kalief has very high expectations of his players, his fellow coaches, and himself, yet he always addresses everyone in a respectful manner. That is a rare combination for a coach. It serves him well and has led him to many successful endeavors.
Coach Muhummad has always been willing to help other athletes in other sports. He always sees the best in athletes and makes them believe that any thing is possible through hard work. He knows what is best for Tompkins and is willing to take this team the next level
I have had the privilege of teaching Kalief as a student and working with him as a colleague. No one is more committed to leading and motivating young people. He will be an incredible asset to your program!!!
Honorable and very professional coach who cares about the growth of the students and in addition, he comes prepared to win games.
He is a remarkable coach, putting his players' well being & future first!!! We need more coaches like him in the Katy Area
Great player in his day, great leader and I am sure he will do great things as the head varsity coach at Tompkins. He’s well deserving.
Sounds like he deserves it good luck to him

Kalief has coached 2 of our sons. He has been, hands down, one of the best coaches we have ever had! He strives for excellence in all that he does and makes his athletes improve, not only as players, but as young men. Tompkins athletics will be raised to a higher level with his leadership and direction!
