Stop the Rat Infestation in Green Community East (All of GCE) starting from Garden West Apartments
We residents of Block D, Garden West Apartments in Green Community East, Dubai Investment Park have faced a rat infestation since February 2017 and hereby call for action from the management of Dubai Investments to take action.
The rats have overwhelmed the apartments, even though several residents have set up traps, closed ceiling walls, hired specialized rodent exterminators and other vast solutions yet the rats still show up and have caused much of damage, bad odors, health problems, loss of property value, psychological problems and not to mention the sleepless nights of the residents that do not allow them to function their daily lives at a normal level anymore. The rats are not showing fear and we are unable to scare them away.
Considering the latter, we request that Dubai Investment conduct the following:
- A full evaluation of the problem at an individual level with each and every of the residents of Block D
- A root cause analysis as to where the rats have originated from and how to stop them at a sustainable level
- Direct action on eliminating the problem (e.g. fumigation) and sources of entry such as holes and borrows in the walls as well as the fresh air ducts of the building
- Replacement of any property components such as false ceiling panels that have been affected by the rats
Our children are not safe to play in our yards or gathering spaces neither our own homes. We implore you to take this petition at a high level of consideration.
Edited on August 11, 2017: This petition is applicable to all Green Community East as of today due to the demands from the community to be part of this petition.
Updates
August 9, 2017
I have compiled the case files including photos of structural damage and reports from professional exterminators to present to Dubai Investments management. We are currently finalizing a formal letter requesting a site inspection and a permanent remediation plan to address the breach of health standards.
August 9, 2017
The volume of support has now reached a level that allows us to formally request an inquiry into the building management records. I am currently drafting a letter to the Dubai Investments administration to demand the physical site inspection outlined in our primary objectives.

I am not living in block D, but in magnolia lane 2 .... this can easily spread into our homes ! Action must me taken ASAP.
Management doesn't appear to take this problem seriously enough, it's been going on now for over 1 year.
I have seen a rat the size of a cat in my kitchen patio
Rats were about at 3am this morning, it escaped from a trap that was set
Again in magnolia lane, but this gives me nightmares just thinking about it! Something must be done.
We own and live in an apartment in block A West garden apartments
They increase the service charge every year but the community just getting worst !

Rat came inside the house early in the morning. UP should have an ON CALL rat catching team.
