I live within Dripping Springs ISD and I'd like the school district to offer Spanish immersion or dual language programs for our Elementary and Middle School students.

Dual language immersion benefits our students and their long-term futures, adds value to our local employers and workforce and strengthens our community as a whole.

I am adding my voice to support an immersion and/or dual language program in the DSISD Elementary and Middle School grade levels.

Language programs are very important to me and I support offering this program in our community.

Updates

January 9, 2020

The school board continues to ignore our requests for dual language education while our children miss out on vital learning opportunities. Their silence confirms they have no interest in modernizing our schools unless we force their hand.

January 9, 2020

The school board can no longer pretend this demand is coming from a handful of people. We have built undeniable momentum and it is time they stop dragging their feet on these language programs.

I have heard such positive results from other parents whose students attend dual language programs in Austin and Sunset Valley.

There is a huge need and desire for this, as evidenced by the growing enrollment in immersion preschools. To be able to continue the communication skills our very young children are practicing from these programs is SO IMPORTANT! Please!

This only makes sense for the future of our society and to the competitiveness of Dripping Springs Public Schools versus private school options.

I learned Spanish finally as an adult because I lived abroad for several years. Wish I would have had the opportunity in school at a much younger age. I fully support this and feel that it’s very beneficial for our children’s future.

My daughter attended a Spanish immersion school for 6 years. Learning a second language at such a young age has helped her in many other aspects of learning as well.

I have a 2.5 year old son who is currently learning Spanish in his preschool. I would love this is be apart of his daily School curriculum when he reaches elementary.
