We the undersigned are residents of the Jeremy Ranch school district with children who are slated to attend this school and who support the addition of a dual-language immersion program at Jeremy Ranch Elementary starting in Fall 2011. It is our opinion that given the essential nature of language immersion education, the support that is available at the state level for program expansion, the best-practice learning available from PPES, and the demand from the Jeremy School district parents, it is far better to get started now and include this year's class of rising first graders even if it may be imperfect, than to have that group of kids miss out on this tremendous opportunity for the rest of their lives. JRES already has a strong, positive reputation for its quality education and top programs. Jeremy should be leading the charge in DLI as well. We parents so strongly support DLI programs, that we plan to apply through the proposed lottery system for our children to attend a school other than Jeremy if this program is not available here. Please consider the tremendous benefits to Jeremy Ranch Elementary and to our children of bringing the DLI program here this fall as you contemplate this new program over the coming days. The support -- the demand -- is here, right in your own backyard and we look forward to helping you make this a reality.
