Principal Sims and members of the Novato Unified School District Board of Directors,
Four days ago our community lost a very special person. A person who was a passionate coach and educator and was respected by everyone who knew him. I am of course referring to Craig Pitti.
For 11 seasons, Craig mentored countless students on the basketball court. Players, parents and fellow coaches respected him tremendously.
News of his passing quickly spread to all corners of the globe and well-wishes came to the Pitti family from people near and far.
We, the undersigned, implore you to immediately vote to rename the gymnasium in honor of Craig Pitti.
If that is not possible, since the building is already named after someone else, please consider dedicating the court in his honor.
Craig gave his heart and soul to San Marin both as a coach and a teacher and it is only fitting that he is memorialized in this manner.

I have been staring at the messages people are leaving on this page and honestly it is just overwhelming to see how many lives Craig touched because he really put everything into those kids. I am trying to organize all these memories to bring to the board soon so keep them coming if you have a specific story because they absolutely need to see what he meant to us.

Such a tragedy. My brother played for him and loved him. He really changed so many lives at that school.
DO IT. He was a legend at SM and the court should have his name on it already.
I have a student at SM. Great way to honor a coach admired by all including students.
With out a doubt it should be named after Mr.Piti. I never had the pleasure to have been taught be him, but his positive energy spread past his immediate students.
He was my teacher last year and I’ve never met someone who is more dedicated to their students and team as much as him!! He deserves the gym to be named after him more then anyone!!
