In honor of Fontana High School's Fire Technology and Emergency Service's instructor Michael McGinnis that heartbreakingly passed away a year ago, we would love to rename the Fire and EMT Classroom building "McGinnis Station 821". McGinnis was an amazing instructor who was leading the expansion of our Public Service Pathway and deeply cared about his family, friends, and students. He dedicated himself to not only our campus, but city and county endeavors and committees to better the community. He passed away August of 2021, hence the 821 for his end of watch. Please sign this petition in his honor so we may proceed with formally presenting it to the Fontana Unified School Board. With love and gratitude-

Marissa Beitler, Assistant Principal of CTE, Fontana High School

I worked with Michael as one of my volunteers for Fontana PD. He was always willing to give back to his community.

The significance of 821 has two meanings. The month and day of McGinnis’s passing Also the launch date by month and year of the Public Service Pathway Building. The heartbeat around the room says it all.

He was one of the best teachers out there. He was so caring about his students and his class. He would be the type of teacher to notice if something was off, go to you let you know that he was there for you regardless of what was going on. We lost an angel.
