If Knoxville Utility Board offered public broadband internet, I would subscibe to it.

Constant feedback is rolling in about frustration with current service providers. I am compiling these experiences to present to the board.

KUB says they don't do municipal broadband because Knoxville has enough competition. In my house I can have Comcast broadband, AT&T that maxes below the Federal broadband specifications, or spotty satellite internet. Two of those aren't even realistic choices for today's connected home.

Absent of serious market competition, we're effectively treating internet like a utility already--except we're allowing a private corporation to siphon off the profits. Might as well roll it into KUB and stop letting Comcast fleece Knoxville and E. Tennessee.

Our nephew who lives in Chattanooga says it is wonderful. We recently downsized our subscription because it was getting ridiculously over priced and unaffordable ...seniors and retirees.

Look at EPB in Chattanooga and see how good it can be. I pay $60/mo for 25mb xfinity and no tv, EPB has TV and 1 gig speed for $80/mo!

Commercial internet providers in my area seem incapable of providing fast internet without also pushing unwanted TV programming. We need alternatives.

The fact that Chattanooga, Morristown, and Tullahoma have this before Knoxville is just embarrassing.

Chattanooga has it. Morristown has it. AND, Lenoir City is getting it!

Please do. They do it in other cities and towns around the state. Give Comcast competition.
