THE UNDERSIGNED RESIDENT TAX PAYERS OF SANTA CALIFORNIA CITY SUB-DIVISION, PRADO VALLEY RANCH, ET AL., ABIQUIU, NM, HEREBY PETITION RIO ARRIBA COUNTY TO ADOPT BEAN CREEK ROAD, FROM ITS JUNCTION AT STATE HIGHWAY 554 UNTIL IT MEETS THE NORTHERN BANK OF THE EL RITO CREEK (0.4 MILES)

Updates

July 18, 2018

I spent the entire morning driving Bean Creek Road and once again I had to navigate around deep ruts that threaten my vehicle. The county needs to understand that we are tired of risking our axles just to reach our own homes. I am gathering the current lists to submit to the office of public works so they can finally fix this mess.

July 18, 2018

Seeing so many neighbors join this effort proves that we are all tired of the damage done to our vehicles on this stretch of road. This momentum shows that the county cannot ignore the reality of our daily commutes any longer.

As there is no other discernible County services performed here, road preservation is the only representation of tax revenues used for our benefit.

Bean Creek Rd. is a vital piece of infrastructure the community relies on to gain access to their homes. Bean Creek Rd. is not safe due to inadequate and poor drainage which can and has caused the road to be impassible. We are petitioning Rio Arriba County to adopt ownership of the road and provide preservation services which will allow safe passage for residents and emergency services.
