RS-2477 PETITION FOR MESA COUNTY COMMISSIONERS PER MESA COUNTY RESOLUTION 2014-75 WHICH REAFFIRMED THE COUNTIES AUTHORITY OVER OUR ROADS, THIS PETITION IS REQUESTING MESA COUNTY COMMISSIONERS HIRE A PROFESSIONAL ROUTE RESEARCHER, SIMILAR TO THAT OF GARFIELD COUNTY, CO, TO DOCUMENT RS-2477 RIGHTS-OF-WAY ON OUR PUBLIC LANDS. SPECIAL EMPHASIS GIVEN TO THE 800 PLUS MILES OF VESTED INTEREST ROUTES (VIRs) THAT THE COMMUNITY IDENTIFIED IN 2013. THE GJ BLM RMP WILL CLOSE UP TO 2000 MILES (60%) OF OUR CURRENT MOTORIZED PUBLIC LAND ROUTES, IT WILL HAVE A DEVASTATING EFFECT ON OUR LOCAL ECONOMY, FAMILY HERITAGE AND LEGAL RIGHTS.

I, Petitioner (signed below), agree with the above statements.

The scale of this response confirms the need to prioritize a professional route researcher. I am currently drafting a formal request for the Commissioners to review these findings during our next scheduled meeting.

Closure is not management. Do your jobs. The BLM works for the American Tax payer to manage the American Tax payer's public lands.

I do not support these closures. These routes have been used for generations and would have a negative impact on the economics of the local communities.

Keep our public lands open to the general public. Denying access to our public lands places a burden upon the elderly, the handicaped and others who wish to use these lands for ATV use, hiking, camping, hunting, fishing and sight seeing. Keep access to our public lands open.

Motorized recreation is vital to the county and surrounding communities! The BLM should step up and manage lands for multiple uses instead of closing problem areas!

Utah has 12,000 RS 2477 Roads under litigation with the Federal Gov't and has reopened many routes with it. We have an example lets follow it.

Lets keep our public lands open. The idea that's it's expensive to keep the land open is a myth. They're dirt trails and regular riding on them is all that's needed. These trails have been open for multiple generations since they were originally mining and logging roads. There is plenty of land in Colorado for us all to use unless the US Government keeps closing it up.

We need to keep the trails open so that we all have access to the beauty.
