This petition is in opposed to the White Lotus Development Group as they are trying to build a "Low Income" Housing Development on the land located @ 60th & Sorensen, Omaha, Nebraska. The neighborhoods and surrounding area are strongly opposed to the current White Lotus plan and request the city not approve this project."The following neighborhoods will only allow the following to be developed:

That the White Lotus canONLY build a Senior Citizen complex and it must be secured and gated to avoid traffic from Sorenson Parkway so that they do not congregate in the parking lots late at night. Also it must be "secure entry" to the complex with a security guard on hand 24 hours a day. The White Lotusmust sign a minimum of a 20 year plus agreement with the city that the complex will remain a "senior citizen" complex whether the property is sold by the White Lotus Groupand the signed addendum (sp?)must remain in place to the new Owners if sold.

Feedback is always welcome, so let me know what everyone thinks or you can share this ideal with your neighbor and surrounding communities.

As home owners in the 60th and Sorensen neighborhood we support what is laid out in this petition for guide lines for the development of the property at 60th and Sorensen. There are many problems with the developer’s (White Lotus) plans and the developer’s interaction with people living in the neighborhood. The developer has disregarded the input of the neighborhood and changed understood agreements with people living in the neighborhood. My wife and I have attended two meetings with the White Lotus (attended by 60+ and 100+ people) and no one supported the developer's plans for low income housing. Experience in the area with low income housing has been bad for the neighborhood in the past. There is no reason allow the opportunity to arise again.

Older rural area. High desity not a fit. Schools are full and traffic for schools is heavy now. Senior living was approved and agreed on. White Lotus changing again and trying to not inform neighbors.

We moved to this area for the quiet country feel this neighborhood. We do not need a large apartment complex destroying our peaceful neighborhood with increased traffic. Plus the area schools are already at capacity and don't need more portals taking way the playgrounds.

This developer has done more to obfuscate their goals than to communicate clearly with the neighborhood. Its increasingly clear they value only their bottom line and will tell us anything in an effort to misdirect for the purpose of getting our approval They should not be allowed to proceed with this project.
