The City of Santa Fe, via Councilor Peter Ives, is introducing a resolution to consider developing family residential low-income housing at the corner of Yucca Street and West Zia Road.
The resolution will be on the City of Santa Fe's November 8th agenda for consideration and possible approval. The resolution, if approved, directs City Staff to record survey plat necessary for future transfer of the property to a developer. The developer must successfully obtain an award of low-income housing tax credits. If the credits are attained, city staff will prepare applications for land use to change the designation of property form "Parks" to "Residential" and rezoning.
City staff will then identify a developer (bid process) with a successful Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) development, and assist the developer with their LIHTC application for a low income housing project. This could include supporting development of multi-family residential rental dwelling units at a density of at least TWENTY (20) UNITS PER ACRE as a Low-Income Housing Tax Credit project.
If this project materializes, we could have residential low-income apartments in our neighborhood by the fall of 2019 or shortly thereafter.

The city council meeting regarding this resolution was postponed and is now on November 8. Very sly to not share this resolution with the neighborhoods. The more we share, the more people will be aware. I hope all of you will show up for this meeting.
