5225 Avenida Oriente Parking Lot (Behind Golden Age) Safety Concerns

Dear Neighbor,
If you aren't aware, the situation with the above mentioned parking lot has worsened. People come and do donuts, burn outs and race their cars in the lot. Others come and do drugs, store dealer vehicles, repair vehicles at night and homeless camp there. The police are being called as well.
The owners have been contacted several times, but they do not care. The city attorney's office is involved along with building and safety.
We request that the owners put up gates and close in the parking lot at end of business day. We also ask that the owners comply with all of their Conditional Use Permit conditions.
We demand that the safety and dignity be restored to this..OUR respectable Tarzana community. Please sign this petition and let your voices be heard.

This is not right. We paid good money to live on South of Ventura. We thought that the neighborhood would be safe and peaceful. However due to lack of concern by the owner of the parking lot located 5225 avenida Oriente this is not true. The parking is no more than a play area for kids to come and have joy rides (dounts) and illegal drug activity. The police have not been able to do anything since the owner doesn't allow them to do their job. This is so unprofessional and disrespectful by the owner and immidate action needs to be taken.
I live across from 5225 Avenida Oriente and I am so sick and tiered of calling the police at nights for all the actions that has been happening at nights in this parking lot... Due to the doubts and the loud noises, gathering that occurs at night in this lot I can't sleep. this parking lot should be open for operation hours only there is no purpose for this lot to be left open after operation hours but to allow troubles for all the neighbors ... Placing a gate would resolve all of these issues... This is really sad that I can't have a peace of mind at my own home :(

I have been calling a police over and over to come arrest these cars that come and due a dounts, do drugs, sex, make so much noises at night in the 5225 Avenida Oriente... It is time to either shut down this parking lot or simply place a gate so I can feel safe and be able to sleep well at my own house!
Jeff; I am sure you know that Raffy report directly to Mike Feuer, the City Attorney. Last time I met Mike in one of the LAPD west valley gathering he seemed to be a person who likes to be recognized in media as the savior of the Neighborhood. I believe the only way the city's official will care to come up with a plan to solve this problem is to bring your case to the News Papers, or ABC11 Troubleshooter Diane Wilson or someone from other news channels. Mr. Feuer is very sensitive to media reporting. He was willing to fight with Wellsfargo, maybe he will be willing to fight with this property owner. Just a suggestion.
One of the issues is the pot store The gym moved because of the issues of the property. Agreed we need to clean it up and the owner should protect the value of his asset as well as the neighborhood.

yes I fully support this as drugs and their residues were found inside the home that I just bought and was broken into when the property was vacant. Description of culprits were very similar to those spotted near the parking lot.
