I would like to start this petition to assure that, Farley Chatto teaches 4th year Fashion Design at The Ryerson School of Fashion this upcoming year 2018/2019. He has brought our year so much joy and made our lives a little bit easier by being such a wonderful person. He is the embodiment of an amazing teacher, and I think we'd all like to stay his "children" another year.

Having only just had the opportunity to work with Farley this semester, in my 4 years that I’ve spent at Ryerson I’m disappointed that I didn’t get the chance sooner. Farley has proved himself time and time again to be an exceedingly capable, respectful, and knowledgeable professor, leading by example and inspiring a whole year of students so much as to have us petition to have him teach us again next year. One semester isn’t enough to pick the brains of someone of Farley’s caliber, and I hope for mine and everyone’s sake that we’ll have that opportunity next year as he guides us through the realization of our final collections with as much care and, when necessary, frankness as he’s shown up this year. Thank you Farley.
Farley has honed my mind in to the most creative way. Having Farley in our final year will benefit my classmates and I the most, as he is determined on helping all of us, giving us the best suggestions and ideas on dealing certain topics and problems we face during the proccess. He is really easy to talk too and most of all, he is really fun to work with and very caring. Having him will ease the process despite the uber hectic and stressfull final year.
Farley Chatto has been an excellent professor who has guided, critiqued and and pushed me throughout my third year menswear project. He has far exceeded any expectations I have for a professor and has gone out of his way to support me as a student, and to also push me to the highest degree possible. He is an incredible source of knowledge, experience, and knowledge. It would be a huge loss and disadvantage to not have him as a professor throughout our fourth year collections, so I sign this petition in hope that it will influence his appointment as our fourth year collection professor. Farley has demonstrated exceptional knowledge of both men's and womenswear. Combined with a glowing personality, specialized knowledge of fur and leather, and attention to detail when teaching, the 2018-2019 graduating cohort would benefit greatly from having him as a fourth year collection instructor.
It would be impossible to write in this box the amount of knowledge we were able to get from Farley in such a short period of time. Not only did he reset our drafting knowledge but provided insanely relevant and honest industry insights. It would be a complete waste of talent and expertise not to have Farley teach the 4th year students. With Farley, I feel I would have the knowledge and skills to walk out of Ryerson confident, knowledgeable and job ready. Please make this happen!
I did not have Farley as an instructor in my 3rd year menswear studies and yet he was enormously helpful, supportive, and available for guidance more than any instructor I have had the experience of working with in my fashion design courses. Farley's commitment to and belief in his students' talent and abilities is instrumental to their success. He fosters a positive learning environment of creativity and exploration, giving each individual the time and space they need to surmount the challenges of an extremely difficult program. I believe having Farley as a fourth year instructor would not only benefit the experience of the students, but the reputation and output of the school of fashion. He is an exceptional teacher and I know each and every one of us would be delighted and privileged to work with him on our final collections.
Farley taught me everything I know about design and everything I don't know about design. He is an incredible teacher, and he cares so much about his students and the work that we do. If he wasn't my prof this term, I would have not been as successful and probably would have cried a LOT more. He not only was such a wonderful prof but he also made me actually want to do the work and inspired me to push myself. Would love to have him as a prof again next year! Thank you so much Farley.

Farley always treated my classmates with respect and love. It was such a positive experience to have your vision validated by someone you look up to. The focus was always on helping you to actualize your dream, and find the best way to make it work. I never left a crit feeling defeated, always inspired. I know he wouldn’t even be my prof in fourth year, but someone else deserves to have that experience while creating their most important collection.
