As the neighbors of 493 Atlanta Avenue, we, along with the property owner, are asking your support in obtaining a Type IV Demolition Permit to tear down the existing structure. Based on inspections by multiple Structural Engineers and a Forensic Environmental Scientist, this structure poses an immediate Threat to Public Health and Safety in that it is both structurally unsafe and contains excessive levels of hazardous molds. Each of these problems are so severe that the structure cannot reasonably be salvaged or renovated. (Copies of all inspections are available upon request)
This petition will be provided to the Atlanta Urban Design Commission in order to gain approval. By signing this petition, you show your support in obtaining the Type IV Demolition Permit.
Thank you for your support in taking back our neighborhood!
I have been reviewing the latest engineering reports again and the reality of this building remains just as dangerous as the day we started this effort. Your signatures are helping me prove to the city that this is not just a personal concern for my family but a clear priority for everyone living on this street.

Seeing this level of support confirms that I am not the only one who feels unsafe walking past that rotting building every single day. This tide of agreement proves our community is ready to finally clear this hazard and reclaim our street.

The mold smell is unbearable when the wind blows this way. My kids play right next door and I am worried about them getting sick.

That house is a total eyesore and makes the whole street look trashy. Just tear it down already.
